In 1972, when Spain was still under Franco’s dictatorial regime and isolated from the rest of the world, five young architects and designers (Oscar Tusquets, Lluis Clotet, Pep Bonet, Cristian Cirici, and Mireia Riera) needed beautiful designs for their architectural projects. Since nobody produced them in Spain, and imports were almost impossible and expensive, they decided to created their own company to produce their own designs, and also the designs of their most admired architects.
Today the bd Collection encompasses Art, Residential Furniture, Contract Furniture, and Benches. The Art Collections are designed by the historic Anton Gaudi and Salvador Dali’; the Modern and Contemporary pieces by the founding members, and an elite of European design: Alberto Haberli, Jaime Hayon, Antoine+Manuel, and Konstantin Grcic.
